The decorative wall in the underpass of the National Palace of Culture is composed of a limestone facing (“muschelkalk” type) and large limestone elements of different shapes to create the complex form of the wall’s sculptural decoration.

The decorative wall is relatively stable; however, it is severely neglected, exhibiting significant surface contamination, numerous broken or damaged elements, and traces of graffiti spanning the entire wall. - Conservation / Restoration: No

Preservation Regimes according to Bulgaria’s Cultural Heritage Act:
In order to better preserve this work, it is necessary to: clean the wall and its sculptural elements; remove the accumulated dirt and graffitti; address the cause of water leakage; stabilize the surface and the structure of the stone elements and the foundation; reconstruct the missing and broken elements; and improve the conditions of the surrounding area.
