The second consecutive edition of the exhibition “The New Heritage: Condition and Problems” was hosted at the Cultural Center “Marine Casino” from August the 28 th to September the 15 th , 2023.

During the opening, Prof. Ivan Kabakov, lecturer at the Department of History and Theory of Culture, Faculty of Philosophy at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, delivered a lecture titled: “Vandalism and the Art of Contemporary Graffiti.” Throughout the presentation, numerous examples of graffiti as “contemporary urban art” and those closer to “vandalism” were showcased. Prof. Kabakov presented potential solutions borrowed from other European countries that have successfully integrated graffiti with artistic characteristics into urban environments while also allowing freedom for other creators to produce graffiti but only in designated spaces.
